This country is our home and it is our identity. It made us who we are today, and we take pride in being a part of it. We are Devi and we are the 'Jewel Of The Island'.

The peacock is native to us and our wildlife. It is often the male in the species that shows off the beautiful plumage and hence the figure of speech "proud as a peacock". Just like the peacock, we also take pride in this land and all that it stands for. This is our land. This is our pride.

Our connection with elephants is more than 5000 years old. They have been an integral part of the Sri Lankan Royals since 1800s. They fought for nobility and entertained the Sinhala Kings. They still take part in ceremonial, cultural and religious pageants and processions. They symbolize unity and strength, hence, using the magnificent animal as a part of our campaign was an obvious choice.

Sri Lanka is known to be a paradise for nature lovers. Its picturesque landscape makes it not just a green island, but also home to some of the rarest species of plants. We have gone green long before the rest of the world did.
